08 September 2018 - Providing workforce with adequate skills, adaptability to change and readiness for mobility, work on increasing innovation and improving cooperation are some of the most important tasks of all European Chambers of Economy, according to the President of the the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES), Christoph Leitl.

The meeting of associated and correspondent members of EUROCHAMBRES was held on September 7, 2018 in Istanbul, and the participants of the meeting were the highest representatives of the Chambers of Commerce from countries that are not yet EU members, as well as the President of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES), Christoph Leitl. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy, Vlastimir Golubović.

The President of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkey, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, who opened and hosted the Istanbul meeting, highlighted the importance of strong interaction between the chambers, the exchange of experiences and information on new services that each individual chamber is developing. As he said, it is necessary to provide a chance for young people to work and to create more space for women in business. What makes the economy stronger will be a better life for every citizen on the old continent, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out.

During the meeting, the present highest representatives of the Chambers of Commerce also made a preselection of candidates for members of the Board of Directors of EUROCHAMBRES from the ranks of associated and corresponding members. It is expected that candidates who have successfully completed this phase will receive the official confirmation of the election at the forthcoming session of the General Assembly in Brussels on October 12 this year.

During his stay in Istanbul, the President of the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce Vlastimir Golubović reported on the economic situation in Montenegro and the progress achieved through the activities of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro. In addition, the meeting was an opportunity to talk about the Economic Conference Montenegro 2018, which the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy organizes in Budva, October 25 and 26, which will bring together prominent speakers and provide an opportunity for business networking.
