12 August 2018 - Mojkovac is a town in Northern Montenegro that has a population of 3.590 people. The city encompasses the extended Tara River valley, which divides the area of the municipality into approximately two equal parts. The Tara valley is a composite character: the gorges, basins and parts of the canyon are scattered. From the gorge, which is located at the north of the mouth of the Štitarička River, there is a Mojkovac valley, which passes from the Feratovo Polje, through Podbišće, Donje Selo and Mojkovac to the ravine of the Upper and Lower Polje. The total length of the basin is 9 km, and the width is 2,5 km. In the canyon part of the Tara, which belongs to the municipality of Mojkovac, larger extensions are around the mouth of Bistrica, Ravnik (3.3 x 2.5 km) and around Gornja Dobrilovina and the black pine forest in Crni Podim. Four kilometers north of Mojkovac is the passage of the Strait (1,007m), through which it enters the expanded and well populated Leposnica Valley, the tributaries of Lim.

August 13th is the Day of Municipality of Mojkovac and by this occasion, on behalf of the Government, Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković congratulated citizens, members of the Municipal Assembly and the leadership of Mojkovac, the Municipality Day.

“The image of the infrastructure and communally rejuvenated City of Mojkovac is encouraging. The government is committed to supporting the development of the North in full capacity. Within this, we have identified opportunities for joint development and investment activities," said the Prime Minister of Montenegro in his congratulatory message addressed to citizens of Mojkovac.

With the assessment that the results achieved in the development of Mojkovac are a sufficient reason to celebrate this year's Day of the Municipality with new expectations, the Prime Minister congratulated the President of the Municipality Ranko Mišnić and the President of the Municipal Assembly Dragomir Mrdak. The Prime Minister Marković expressed particular satisfaction with the fact that the city is waiting for the holiday in the ambience of economic progress, which after last year's growth rate, was one of the largest in Europe, so in the first quarter of this year, a continuation of this trend is at a rate of 4.5%.

"The construction of the Ski Center Žarski and the use of the potential of mountain Bjelasica give great impetus to the development of tourism and economic prosperity. Establishing a company based in Mojkovac will strengthen the valorisation of the natural potential of the North, but also Mojkovac. So, in the implementation of government-oriented development policies, Mojkovac becomes an important address," concluded Marković.
