09 September 2018 - In an official report issued by the Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro, the director of PENPM, Elvir Klica, commented on the 2018 tourist season and provided information on the recently launched mobile application “National Parks of Montenegro”.
In the report, he pointed out that NPM noted record results, which have improved by about 30% in comparison to the same period last year.
The director explained that the two months which are ahead of us, September and October, are equally interesting for visits to the national parks. He pointed out that it is of great importance that Montenegro continuously works on creating new products and improving the tourist infrastructure. PENPM recently opened two national restaurants that can contribute to the reduction of seasonality and better attendance of NP Durmitor and NP Biogradska Gora in the winter period.
As Klica highlighted, during the pre-season PENPM participated in several important international fairs in cooperation with Montenegrin National Tourist Organisation, and implemented numerous activities for the preparation of the season. He also took the opportunity to promote the recently launched mobile application, saying how users will have the opportunity to get information about the rich tourist offer of NP Durmitor, NP Biogradska gora, NP Skadar lake, NP Lovćen and NP Prokletije all in one place.
All interested parties who download the application will be able to choose one of the five national parks, and then do a search on the interactive map of more than 150 locations that are recommended. Each location has its own description, photos, and navigation within the application. Users will also be able to explore the natural beauty of Montenegro through the rich content of virtual tours, galleries, history and culture, and they will be informed about all events in the national parks.
According to the PENPM report, the mobile application and site are a kind of digital guide through the protected natural areas of Montenegro through all five national parks. The application is available at the Google Play Store called National Parks of Montenegro. The download site can also be accessed via the web address www.nparkovi.me.
