12 October 2018 - One of the greatest and most successful managers in the world, the Portuguese legend, José Mourinho, made a surprise trip to Montenegro in order to watch a historic clash between Serbia and Montenegro on Thursday night.

The manager of Premier League club Manchester United was photographed in the VIP box alongside Predrag Mijatović, a retired Real Madrid star, watching the game in which Serbia defeated Montenegro 2-0 away in Podgorica in the third round of the UEFA Nations League group stage. Even though he tried to keep a low profile with a baseball cap over his face, many football fans that recognized him had wondered who the Portuguese came to watch, since Mourinho was reportedly on a scouting mission in Podgorica.

Given the increasing pressure Mourinho has come under following Manchester United’s poor results in the start of the season, the Portuguese coach is allegedly drawing up plans for transfer activities.

It has been suggested that the main focus of José Mourinho’s recent trip to Montenegro was Nikola Milenković, the 21-year-old right-back who currently plays for Fiorentina. Though Milenković only moved to Fiorentina last year, he is currently the first-choice right-back within his club, having played every minute in Serie A so far this season.

The sports experts are already comparing Mileković with Nemanja Vidić, given that the former Serbian defender who was the team captain of Manchester United was three years older than Nikola is today when he first joined United. Famous sports journalist praise Milenković for his reading of the game and cool head in difficult situations, assessing that the future prodigy from Serbia is yet to live through his biggest career highlights.

It is also being speculated that Mourinho was there to keep an eye on Lazio’s midfielder, Sergej Milinković-Savić, who is reportedly a long-term target for the United manager. During the summer transfer window, Lazio’s representatives, who are very much aware of their player’s potential, demanded nothing less than 100 million EUR for the impressive midfielder.
