August 13, 2018 - The National Parks of Montenegro were visited by more than 200,000 tourists, which is 20 percent more than last year. And Lovcen National Park marks an even higher number of visitors, with this season expected to be a record.

For the locals, NP Lovcen is ideal for an escape from the heat. For foreigners, it's more than that - a place to explore. The Visitors Center provides information about walking and hiking trails. The first guests arrived in March when the season started.

"Most of the visitors are French. This year, the number of guests from Germany increased. Last year they were none, but this year there are many Germans, Israelis, as well as people from distant destinations such as the USA, Australia, and there are even guests from South America, so this is an interesting mix of guests visiting our national park," said Ana Uskoković from NP Lovćen to TVCG.

The most beautiful view is from Jezerska peak, where Njegos’s mausoleum is located.

"I always wanted to explore this region. I wanted to visit Dubrovnik, and while I was searching on the Internet I saw that Montenegro was near. I read about your country and decided to visit it," said a tourist from the Netherlands.

The managers of the National Parks believe that by the end of October, they will have visits by more than 400,000 guests and expect to achieve a record season.
