13 October 2018 - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović paid a two-day visit to Cetinje, where he met with representatives from 12 companies. 

Summing up the impressions after the meetings with all 12 entrepreneurs who invested a total of 1.55 million EUR in the last year in the improvement of processing capacities in the field of winemaking, meat and dairy industries, with grants of around 650.000 EUR provided from the EU funds and the national budget, the Deputy Prime Minister said that he was encouraged by the achieved results and the perspective of further development of the economy in the Old Royal Capital. 

He emphasised that the IPARD support programme, in addition to strengthening competitiveness, expanding volume and product assortment, has strengthened the sustainability of these companies' business and enabled the opening of new jobs.

According to Simović, significant investments made by 12 entrepreneurs in Cetinje represent only the beginning of many major and significant investments in this area. The Deputy Prime Minister recalled the two ongoing public calls within the framework of the large IPARD, where 6 requests for investments in the amount of over 3.9 million EUR and grants of over 1.600.000 EUR have been submitted from the area of Cetinje. 

DPM Simović thanked the EU partners for their support in the implementation of all these projects, which will give a very significant impetus to the further strengthening of the agricultural sector.
