19 August 2018 - The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro says that there has been an increase in revenues from tourism (8.5%) in the first quarter of 2018, and when it comes to the collection of local taxes, by 15 August, the country generated 933,000 EUR, which is by almost 102,000 more compared to the same period last year. Montenegro has enjoyed an increase in tourist arrivals during August (an increase of 2%), whereas arrivals of tourists in July were at the same level as last year.

It seems that nature is getting pretty crowded as the national parks in northern and central Montenegro recorded attendance of around 258,000 visitors by 12 August, an increase of 28% in comparison to the last year.

Many of the additional arrivals come from the international markets in Serbia, Russia, Germany, Austria, France, Poland, the UK, the Czech Republic, the Benelux countries and Scandinavia.

“Some of the best tour operators, such as TUI, Thomas Cook, FTI, DER Touristik, Thomson, First Choice, Monarch, Cosmos, Kuoni and Biblio Globus, have included Montenegro in their programs, which has significantly contributed to foreign tourist inflow, especially from some unusual markets. We are pleased to confirm that our country witnesses a huge rise in visitor numbers from China, Japan, Israel, as well as the UAE,” as concluded by the representatives of the Montenegrin Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism.
