Owners of Small Hydropower Plants Paid 1.3 Million Euro Over Three Months

Owners of small hydropower plants in the first quarter, according to the compensation for renewable energy, were paid 1,300,715 euros, said the Montenegrin electricity market operator COTEE. 

June 5, 2018 - The paid amount is more than half of the total annual funds which owners of the small hydroelectric power plants received from the state during 2017 when they got 2.4 million euro.

The company Krnovo Green Energy, which owns the windmill at Krnovo, which has acquired the status of a privileged producer in November last year, was paid 1,922,315 euros for February and March.

"From the total amount paid to the owners of small hydropower plants in the first quarter, Hidroenergija Montenegro received the most, 653,026 euro, which also owns small hydropower plants in Bar - Bistrica, Jezerštica, Orah, Rmuš, Spaljevići and Šekular," stated the data from COTEE. 

This is followed by Kroling from Danilovgrad, which received 305,291 euros for Jara and Babino polje, then Igma Energy, which from Andrijevica, Bradavec and Pisevska river, earned 144,739 euro. The company Sinergy from Podgorica was paid 70.942 euros from the performance of the small hydropower plant Vrelo in Bijelo Polje.

The company Hydro Bistrica, which owns a small hydropower plant Bistrica in Bijelo polje and started commercial electricity production in January, was paid 126,713 euro.
